Use of Term Genocide – David McDonald

McDonnell discusses the use of the term genocide in context of the war in Gaza that started on October 7th, 2023. He describes why he uses the term and believes it applies to the conflict. According to McDonnell an impressive number of holocaust scholars believe genocide is being committed in Gaza by Israel. Instead of wasting time arguing over what label to attach to what is happening , there is a need to take action to stop the massive destruction of vital infrastructure and institutions -e.g. hospitals and schools-and the killing of tens of thousands of innocent individuals.
